The UK Drum Show Attracts Record Number Of Attendees
Last weekend saw the return of The UK Drum Show at Manchester Central, further establishing itself with crowds flocking to this two day event of drums and percussion.
Queues on the Saturday morning were out of sight of show reception, with the venue stating that they had seen few shows that have guest numbers arriving in their droves.
Organiser Neil Golding said, “the only way to describe Saturday arrivals was absolutely heaving”. “The show has been steadily growing support from year one, with approx 2,300 guests in 2017, 2018 was 3,400 and this year increasing again to 4079”, states Golding. “It’s true to say that the Saturday was the busier of the two days, which is often the case, with several exhibitors stating they nearly ran out of stock on the first day, others saying that they struggled to cope with arrival of guests in big numbers right from when the doors opened, with retailer partners stating that they had done more business by 2pm on Saturday afternoon, then the previous weekend of the year before” reports Golding.
The show this year had over 40 companies display over 100 brands, with exhibitors reconfirming booths for 2020 before the show had even concluded.
Matt Garstka kicked things off on the Saturday morning, with guests rushing to see the first main stage act of the weekend. The line-up for 2019 was again praised as being amazing, with artists Benny Greb, Michael Schack and KJ Sawka all saying “how great the line-up was this year.”
Golding adds, “once again, with the support of the trade, we have illustrated that shows can exist out of London, and that guests will travel to well organised events”. “The UK Drum Show has been realised, not only as THE no1 UK drum and percussion event, but with guests travelling from all over the world, The UK Drum Show has global appeal to visitors and exhibitors alike”. “With the week leading into the show, in just one instance, we have been contacted by press in Buenos Aires, wishing to interview us, to promote to their readers what is happening in Manchester, wanting to encourage their readers to come and see what this event, thousands of miles away can offer; and there are many other international music titles following and promoting what we are doing”.
As audiences grow, brands are now actively using The UK Drum Show as a launch for new models and innovation, with major brands confirming dates for 2020 at The UK Drum Show for Worldwide product debuts.
“Presently, we are consulting with all of our exhibitors from 2019, as we expect, like last year, for the show to reach exhibition capacity in matter of weeks”. “We are also working very closely with the venue, Manchester Central, to explore the real possibility of expanding the footprint for 2020 so that we can occupy more guests and we presently have new exhibitors wishing to join us we are trying to accommodate”. The organiser of The UK Drum Show are urging any new prospective companies to contact them as soon as possible for potential stands space for next year.
