Sax.co.uk’s Crowborough, Sussex shop suffered a break-in over the weekend resulting in the loss of 29 soprano saxophones and 1 sopranino saxophone from display, with a total street price of over £72,000. The shop says many of these are rare and unusual models by Yanagisawa (including two solid silver models), Yamaha, Rampone & Cazanni, P.Mauriat, Selmer, Jupiter & Elkhart.
‘We have all the cases, mouthpieces and accessories so these unusual instruments will stand out even more if offered for sale,’ the company says. ‘A full list of instruments and serial numbers is available from Sax.co.uk in Crowborough.
