Rath Trombones introduces medium bore instrument to flourishing Rath 00 Series

Rath Trombones, the renowned UK instrument manufacturer, has announced the introduction of a new model to its flourishing Rath 00 Series.

The Rath R300 is a medium bore (.525”) instrument, which will sit alongside the existing R100, R400 and R900 models in the Rath 00 Series, designed to bridge the gap between student level instruments and Rath’s modular, hand-drafted Custom trombones.

Like the rest of the Rath 00 Series, the R300 will have an interchangeable leadpipe. Supplied with a standard leadpipe for small shank mouthpieces, it can also accommodate a large shank leadpipe, ensuring considerable versatility and flexibility for the player.

The Rath R300 trombone will feature an eight-inch yellow brass bell and a yellow brass tuning slide. It has a rotary valve with open wrap, and a nickel silver hand slide.

Supplied with the Rath R300 is a Rath instrument case and a Rath S6 ½ mouthpiece.

Rob Hanson, director of Rath Trombones, commented: “The Rath R300 is a wonderful addition to the Rath 00 Series, offering flexibility and versatility at an affordable price point, while retaining the quality and attention to detail for which Rath Trombones are so well known.

“Whether someone is looking for their first entry into the Rath Trombones range, or they would simply like to enjoy the excellence of Rath Trombones without the complications of a bespoke, modular instrument, the Rath 00 Series is ideal.”

The Rath 00 Series was introduced after Michael Rath, founder, took the most successful modular combinations for the Rath R10, R4F and R9 Custom models and created a range of non-modular instruments: the R100 (Bb medium bore 0.500″), R400 (Bb/F large bore 0.547″) and R900 (Bb/F/Gb independent valves 0.562″).

Everything that Michael Rath knows about designing and producing trombones has been utilised in creating a series of trombones that are elegant in their simplicity, yet economically attainable.

For those looking to progress from a beginner’s instrument to their first professional level trombone, the Rath 00 Series is ideal for developing style and technique before progressing to a fully customised trombone.

The Rath R300 trombone is now available to pre-order.
