Midwich appoints James Parker to head up European operations
Parker will be tasked with expanding the firm’s business across the continent
AV specialist Midwich has appointed James Parker as its new head of European operations, as it bids to ramp up its activities across the continent.
With 17 years’ distribution experience, Parker has previously held a variety of managerial positions. Most recently he worked at DIY retailer Homebase driving its operational improvement programme after its acquisition by Bunnings.
His role as Head of European Operations will see him focus predominantly on pre-acquisition due diligence, post-acquisition company integrations, and group-wide infrastructure projects. There will be a specific emphasis on leveraging the group’s strengths to ‘deliver synergies across the European subsidiaries’. He will report to the Group’s European director Tom Sumner.
Commenting on his new role, Parker said: “I am excited to have joined Midwich at this key stage in the Group’s growth journey. I am very much looking forward to working with the European subsidiary teams to support their growth aspirations and help deliver synergies across the Group.
On Parker’s appointment, Sumner added: “We are delighted to welcome James into the Midwich Group. I am very confident that this appointment will provide us with additional expertise to deliver on our ambitious growth plans – especially as we continue to increase our international footprint.”
Midwich recently announced its Pre-Close Trading Statement, in which it reported revenue for 2017 of approximately £470 million, representing growth of around 28 per cent over the prior year. Midwich will announce its final results for the year ended December 31 2017 on March 13 2018.
At the start of the year, Midwich also announced a major management overhaul within the group, which you can read more about here.
