“We are incredibly excited to enhance the distribution of Vater drumsticks in the UK,” said Duncan Williams, Head of Drum & Percussion brands at Korg UK. “The unparalleled quality and innovative design of Vater sticks perfectly align with our mission to provide drummers and percussionists with the best possible products.

With Korg UK’s extensive reach, we look forward to supporting more UK drummers with Vater’s exceptional range.”

With a legacy rooted in craftsmanship and quality, Vater has been a trusted name in the drumming community for decades. Their story began in the 1940s when Jack Adams opened Jack’s Drum Shop in Boston. By 1956, Fred Maichele, the Godfather of Alan and Ron Vater, was hand-turning drumsticks that quickly gained fame among top drummers like Philly Joe Jones and Buddy Rich. In the 1970s, Clarry Vater, along with his young sons Alan and Ron, continued the family tradition by producing drumsticks in the basement of their music store in Norwood, MA. The quality of their products spoke for themselves and before long, Vater was making drumsticks for some of the biggest stick and drum brands in the industry.

Today, Vater is renowned for offering the finest drumsticks, timpani mallets, marimba mallets, vibraphone mallets, brushes, specialty sticks, and accessories in the world. The commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and hands-on production has been the cornerstone of their success, carried forward by Alan Vater and a dedicated team of craftsmen. This new partnership highlights Korg UK’s dedication to enhancing our product offerings and supporting the drumming community with premium tools.

“As we embrace this exciting future with Vater, Korg UK will cease to distribute Vic Firth products as of 1st August 2024.” Korg UK
