Dawsons closing three branches – head office to go
Dawsons Music, the subject of a December 2018 buyout by the private equity company SKG Capital Nominees, is closing three of its branches, including the company’s spiritual home in Sankey Street, Warrington, its headquarters since 1914. The other two branches to be closed are at Altrincham and Huddersfield.
Notice of the closures appears on the Dawsons website entry for each shop individually with the following brief statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the closure of this store. We have tried to maintain a presence in the town for as long as we can but it is unfortunately no longer viable. We would like to say thank you to all of our customers and to wish you all the very best in your future musical endeavours’.
