
ABTT 2018 gets underway tomorrow
The specialist theatre show takes place at Alexandra Palace from June 6-7.
Tomorrow (June 6) sees the annual ABTT (Association of British Theatre Technicians) show gets underway at London’s Alexandra Palace, featuring a wide range of specialist exhibits and product demos.
The two-day show offers an dedicated theatre products exhibition, along with an array of educational forums, workshops and product demonstrations. The purpose of the show is to raise money to fund the work of the registered charity, the Association of British Theatre Technicians, which seeks to ‘uphold standards in technical excellence and safety for theatre and live performance’.
On both days (June 6-7), d&b audiotechnik will be giving demonstrations of its new Soundscape system, which has been cited by leading engineers as one of the most innovative immersive audio products on the market.
Meanwhile, the Annual Stage Management Association Awards will take place at 1pm on Wednesday (June 6), followed later in the afternoon by Clear-Com’s seminar on the transition from analogue to digital intercoms at 3.15pm. This session will also take place at 11.am on Thursday (June 7).
There will also be a variety of educational sessions on best operational and production practices across all aspects of theatre production, as well as forums on lighting and technical standards.
