100 Club, The Joiners and Broadcast among grassroots venues nominated in 2018 Music Week Awards

The annual awards take place in London on April 26

The shortlist for the 2018 Music Week Awards has been announced, with London’s 100 Club, Southampton’s The Joiners and Glasgow’s Broadcast among the nominees in the coveted Grassroots Venue: Spirit Of The Scene category.

Other grassroots nominees include Guildford’s The Boileroom, Cardiff’s Club Ifor Bach, Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms and Hebden Bridge’s Trades Club.

Meanwhile, shortlisted in the Festival Of The Year category are British Summer Time Hyde Park, Download, Glastonbury Festival, Isle Of Wight Festival, Kendal Calling, Reading & Leeds and Wireless.

The prestigious ceremony will be held on April 26 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The biggest award, The Strat – which recognises an outstanding contribution to the music business – will be announced on the night. Last year’s packed ceremony saw First Access Entertainment CEO Sarah Stennett honoured with the special award.

The Music Week Awards now move into the judging phase, with winners decided by a combination of expert judging panels and a wider group of industry executives.
