Vintage Guitars backs Cardiff charity

Over the first weekend of August, during the Cardiff Eisteddfod, Vintage Guitars joined forces with The Living Room to raise money for the charity. The Living Room assists people who are experiencing difficulties with any form of substance abuse or harmful behaviour through dependency. Vintage Guitars, in conjunction with retailer A Strings music from Pontypridd, staged a two day guitar event across the weekend of 4th and 5th August, as part of the week-long Eisteddfod.

The first half of proceedings on the Saturday took the form of an open day, with a selection of Vintage, Fret-King, Bohemian, LAKA and Pilgrim acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments available for visitors to try. Following the open day, Saturday evening saw an all-star concert featuring Vintage and Fret-King artists Gordon Giltrap, John Etheridge, Carrie Martin, Ray Burley and Paul Brett.

Following the performance, four guitars were signed by their respective artistes and presented by Bryn Fon to Wynford Ellis Owen of Living Room Cardiff, to be auctioned off by The Living Room charity. A Vintage Paul Brett 12 string VE8000PB-12, Vintage Paul Brett Viaten VTE800N, Vintage Gordon Giltrap VE2000DLX and a Fret-King John Etheridge FKV3JE were each donated.

On Sunday 5th August, members of the public were giving the chance to meet the performers from the previous night’s show.
