Roland Announces LX Digital Piano Series iF Design Award 2025
Roland announces that the LX Digital Piano series has won an iF Design Award 2025. This year marks the first time in six years that the iF International Design Forum has recognized Roland’s LX series—Roland’s LX700 digital piano series won an iF Design Award in 2019. Based in Hannover, Germany, the iF International Design Forum selects outstanding works in nine categories each year, including product, packaging, and communication. For 2025, the LX series (LX-9, LX-6, LX-5) won in the musical instruments category among approximately 11,000 entrants from 66 countries and regions.
LX Series (LX-9, LX-6, LX-5)
Roland’s LX series, the LX-9, LX-6, and LX-5, are digital pianos that bring the quality of a superb concert grand piano to the home with the latest Roland technology spanning over 50 years. The LX series, completely redesigned with new sounds, keys, pedals, and sound system, enhances expressiveness and reproduces the beautiful sound and resonance of an acoustic grand piano. The design of this upright digital piano for home use makes it possible to achieve a rich, full sound and delicate expression of nuance that was previously impossible with digital pianos. In addition to a wide range of built-in songs and a variety of tones, LX series pianos also come with a range of functions that are only possible with digital pianos, such as the Roland Piano App, a free Roland app that makes it possible to have fun while also providing effective lessons.
The LX series, with its elegant yet modern and simple look, sound, and feel, has been carefully designed to balance playability and appearance. The balance and size have been carefully adjusted, minimizing the footprint to fit almost any space and reducing the hassle of setting up at home, all while keeping the impactful style expected from an upright home piano. The exterior has been improved with a wood component finish that will continue to look beautiful even after many years of use.

Sustainability is considered for the LX series, with its hybrid structure of wood and plastic keys. This design offers the convenience of a maintenance-free digital piano with the unique feel of playing wooden keys. The LX series comes with a 10-year warranty, a first for the industry in major markets, proving its high durability and providing the enjoyment of a long-term, high-quality playing experience.
