James Neligan Guitars Ezra OMCFI – Reviewed

Here’s the latest review from the Acoustic Review Live Room featuring a James Neligan Guitars Ezra OMCFI

Featuring…

  • solid cedar top with laminated sapele back and sides,
  • mahogany C shaped neck,
  • rosewood fingerboard,
  • fishman presys pickup and preamp.
“…there’s plenty of players out there that will want an instrument that is an upgrade from their first guitar that they can also start gigging with and the OMCFI fits right in that pocket.”

Filmed at Paul Caboche Studios (Cornwall, UK), July 2024

“Giving it a strum I’m presented with a crisp tone that’s just hovering around being a bit too bright. I think the guitar will mellow with a bit a of time but as it stands there may be a few players that would find it too forward sounding. “

JN Guitars Says…”Smaller in size than it’s dreadnought cousin, auditorium style acoustic guitars offer equal measures of comfort and functionality, without losing projection. Popular among folk players, these models are perfect for finger-picking and can find their way around every register to achieve great presence.”

James Neligan
“…I wouldn’t say it was the best guitar I’ve seen at this price point, but it’s certainly not the worse either.”

“For my taste it’s a bit thin when fingerpicked, but there’s certainly lots of clarity, and perhaps in the mix with other instruments it would sit quite well. The sustain is pretty good, although there’s a few brassy overtones ringing out that I found tiring after a while playing.”
