Fender does the timewarp – again
Fender has been at the controls of its time machine once again, this time hybridising a Strat and a Tele in the latest of its exciting ‘Parallel Universe’ reimaginings of what might have happened to famous guitars from the company’s past.
Fender says: ‘This Parallel Universe model combines the biting twang of a Telecaster with the sleek, ergonomic contours of a Strat. The limited-edition Whiteguard Strat ($1,999.99) in Vintage Blonde also features an Ash Strat body with a lacquer finish and custom-shaped white pickguard’.
Third quarter releases in the Parallel Universe series are going to include a Jaguar Strat in October, the Meterora in November and a ’51 Telecaster PJ Bass.
Whiteguard Strat specifications include:
Ash body with lacquer finish
“Modern C”-shaped maple Tele neck; 9.5″-radius fingerboard
22 narrow-tall frets; bone nut
Fender Custom Shop ’51 Nocaster single-coil bridge and neck pickups
Limited Edition neck plate; silver Fender logo on headstock
Includes hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity
