Transparent pickguard on Sterling

Hi, I recently got a new Sterling ray34 bass with transparent pickguard, and this plastic has been really bugging me..
mainly when playing slap, whenever I do a pop, as my finger goes under the string it hits the pickguard, and every touch like that leaves a mark on it! which is ridiculous because the stingrays are geared towards slap players..but that aside
woke up few days ago.. and there’s an air bubble now in 1 spot.. no idea why..
