Silhouette Special Wiring question

So, Silhouette Special, middle position on the selector, (position 3) – neck single and bridge slug coil in parallel. I prefer it to the standard middle single sound. It’s a great sound but it’s also the lowest volume of the positions on a Silo Special and it bothers me. So I’m thinking…

Option 1: How about wiring it in series rather than in parallel? That would give me extra volume and the tone won’t change dramatically. But will it now be too loud compared to the standard 2 & 4…
