Sabre Bass Pickups

Hello and greetings from Germany, Bavaria.
I bought this 1985 Sabre Bass and I want to ask you if the big Pickups( 2″ ) are original or has the previous owner customized teh Bass?
The later Sbres have all the smaller Pickups so I´m a bit surprised about this configuration.
