Question: styrofoam

hey… does anyone know if styrofoam will harm the finish of a Albert Lee SSS guitar? I’m trying to put it in a strat case but the case is a little too long and I wanted to put a little styrofoam at the bottom of the guitar if it wont harm anything. Its that rubbery (is that a word?) kind of styrofoam that comes in the box when they ship toner cartridges for printers thanks
