Luke 2 blue pearl from 2009 finish issues

I have a 2009 Music Man Luke 2 in sparkly blue, and over the years, the finish has cracked and large areas of the finish have come off.

Has anyone completely removed the finish? If so, is it a good idea to leave the guitar without any finish? Or should I take it to a luthier to have the paint redone?

Personally, I’m fine with not having a finish, but have you ever encountered this kind of issue?
