Konnekt 24d with 2015 (Thunderbolt) MacBook Pro (corrected)
Sorry, my first attempt at this post got truncated somehow. Here’s my situation again (the whole thing this time):
Hi.
I have a Konnekt 24d from way back (Firewire 400), and recently picked up a 2015 MacBook Pro, with two Thunderbolt 2 ports (and no Firewire to speak of). I’d rather not have to buy a new audio interface, if I don’t have to, as I’ve been perfectly happy with my Konnekt 24d in the past, but it seems that in order for me to use the Konnekt 24d with the 2015 MacBook Pro, I’d have to use a Firewire 400 to 800 cable (which I’m already using with my old Mac), PLUS a Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt adapter. On the surface, this gives me concerns, running 2 adapters between the audio interface & the computer, as I’d be worried it might introduce latency or general flakiness, but perhaps it’s OK? Might any of you be running this setup? Any thoughts you may have on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
