G-System generation differences : Worth it?
Hi guys,
a while ago all of my gear got stolen (€13.000+ worth) and I’m currently holding a fundraiser and am gathering some funds to replace some key pieces I used to use, like the G-System. The thieves took all but my G-System controller, so I actually only need the ‘brain’ / rack, but no one is going to part with just the rack unit, of course. Sad situation.
Anyways, from what I know there are multiple versions of the G:
– 1st Gen Silver version
– 2nd Gen Limited Red version, which has an improved input circuit
– 2nd Gen Silver version, which has the improved input circuit from the Red version
– 3rd Gen Limited Black version, which has a further improved input circuit (iB mod)
– 3rd Gen Silver version, which has the further improved input circuit from the Black version (iB mod)
“Any (silver) G-System with a GFX-01 unit having a serial number equal to or lower than 6537538 has the input section from the original G-System.
Any (silver) G-System with a GFX-01 unit having a serial number equal to or higher than 6537539 has the redesigned 2nd generation input section from the G-System Red Limited Edition.
Any (silver) G-System with a GFX-01 unit having a serial number higher than 6539340 has the redesigned 3rd generation input section from the black G-System iB Modified.“
Now, my question is:
Are the differences that noticeable from version to version and is it worth paying more for a 2nd or 3rd gen G? And if so, which one would you actually recommend, the input from the 2nd gen or the 3rd?
Thanks in advance!
