Disabling new buffered output – fuzz problem

Half my fuzzes rely on varying the high impedance signal from my guitar’s volume and tone controls. They squelch and squawk and can sound remarkably different with just a slight twist. This whole buffered output is a no go for me. Was about to pull the trigger on a new cutlass. Now I’m thinking no unless I can disable it. Otherwise I might as well have emgs in there. Not all fuzzes will present a problem, but my favorites will. So can it be disabled?
