Yamaha announce two new Pacifica models for the line’s 30th anniversary
Yamaha has announced two new Pacifica Models will join its 2021 lineup of guitars, coinciding with the Pacifica range’s 30th anniversary.
The new Pacifica 612VIIFMX and Pacifica 612VIIX are by-and-large similar guitars, with the FM in the former’s model name initiating a flame maple top. The 612VIIFMX comes in a Fire Red finish, with the 612VIIX coming in a Teal Green Metallic and Yellow Natural Satin, with the added bonus of a Matte Silk Blue finish exclusive to Sweetwater.
Image: YamahaIn terms of core specs, the new 612 models come with a Seymour Duncan TB-14 Custom 5 humbucker in the bridge, as well as Seymour Duncan SSL-1 single coils in the middle and neck. Hardware comes in the form of a Graph Tech TUSQ nut and strings trees, Grover locking tuners and a Wilkinson VS50 bridge. This bridge is a six-saddle Strat-style tremolo. Both versions of the new Pacifica 612 sport alder bodies, bolt-on maple necks and rosewood fretboards.
For more versatility than meets the eye, alongside the five-way blade switch, there’s a push-pull volume knob for coil-splitting the humbucker and a single tone knob.
