“We refer to it as the ‘sports car’ of the Fender lineup”: Fender launches its “most advanced” line of electric guitars to date, the American Ultra II series

Fender has launched the American Ultra II series — the latest evolution of its acclaimed American Ultra range.
Billed as the brand’s “most advanced” line of electric guitars to date, the American Ultra II series builds on its predecessor’s hyper-modern design with a host of new features and upgrades aimed at enhancing playability and performance.
The new range includes a Stratocaster (with a left-handed option), HSS Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass, Jazz Bass, a Jazz Bass V. Notably, this series also introduces the Meteora guitar and bass models to the collection.

Upgrades with the American Ultra II series come by way of the all-new Haymaker Humbuckers and Ultra II Noiseless pickups that are said to “deliver classic Fender single-coil sound — without the hum”. Fretboards now come in either Ebony or Maple option, and are topped with Luminlay side dots for good measure. The bass models also boast a redesigned preamp that offers “unprecedented control” for endless tonal possibilities.

Fender has retained key features from the original American Ultra series, including the modern D-shape neck profile, tapered neck heel, Ultra rolled edges, and sleek rear body contours for maximum comfort.
The series also comes in a variety of eye-catching new finishes, such as Ultraburst, Solar Flare, Avalanche, Noble Blue, Sinister Red, and Texas Tea for the Ultra II Stratocaster.

“With the work and heart that went into creating the American Ultra II series, there’s a lot of soul in these guitars,” says Justin Norvell, EVP of Product at FMIC. “We refer to it as the ‘sports car’ of the Fender lineup, it’s designed to push boundaries and redefine what a Fender guitar can be, catering to both traditionalists and those exploring new, faster, and more intricate playing styles.”
“This is a guitar that doesn’t fight you; instead, it gets out of the way, allowing you to focus purely on your performance, whether you’re playing soulful solos, fast riffs, or complex chord progressions.”
Prices begin at $2,199.99 for the American Ultra II Strat, Tele and P-Bass models, topping out at $2,399.99 for the Jazz Bass V.
