Watch the crazy moment Perry Farrell punches bandmate Dave Navarro onstage – forcing Jane’s Addiction gig to be cut short

A recent Jane’s Addiction gig in Boston was cut short after vocalist Perry Farrell shoved and punched guitarist Dave Navarro in an awkward on-stage altercation.
The incident occurred at the Leader Bank Pavilion on Friday 13 September during the set’s 11th song Ocean Size, which was due to be followed by three more tracks. The show was cut short as a result of the chaos.
In fan-filmed footage shared to YouTube, Farrell is seen shoving into Navarro during his solo. He can also be seen saying “fuck you” to Navarro before attempting to punch him, which is intercepted by guitar tech Dan Cleary before more of their team swarm on stage to restrain Farrell and remove him as boos from the crowd ensue.
Another angle filmed by a fan also shows Farrell saying “fuck these motherfuckers” to his bandmates on stage before the attack on Navarro. Later, the other members raise their hands and clap to the audience, seemingly saying thank you, with drummer Stephen Perkins giving a quick hug to Navarro.

The band later shared a statement on an Instagram story the following day, in which they wrote (as seen on a screenshot via The Independent): “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded last night. As a result we will be cancelling tomorrow night’s [Sunday 15 September] show in Bridgeport. Refunds will be issued at your point of purchase.”
It is reported that tensions had been bubbling among the band at previous shows. Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, has also since spoken out and claimed that the altercation between him and Navarro occurred due to issues with sound during the tour, alleging that Farrell had felt “drowned out” by other members. It seems the other band members have not addressed this claim.
“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band,” she writes. “Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.
