Watch: Eddie Vedder joins The Strokes on stage
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder joined The Strokes on stage last Friday, during their headline set at Ohana Festival. He performed two songs with the band – Pearl Jam’s Hard to Imagine and the Strokes’ own Juicebox.
“Julian [Casablancas] asked if I would join the fellas here. One of the reasons I accepted is because it would give me the opportunity to thank all the great artists here today, especially The Strokes,” Vedder said before performing the two songs.
The Strokes’ set comes after guitarist Nick Valensi teased that their new album was finished earlier this month – saying that there was a “strong likelihood” that we would see a new release some point soon.
California’s Ohana Festival, curated by Vedder himself, hosts a diverse lineup of acts in support of two Californian coastline preservation charities. Vedder performed his own headline set on Saturday, which included a cover of Walking the Cow, dedicated to Daniel Johnston.
