“Together again”: Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood have been pictured in the studio

Lindsey Buckingham has been pictured with Fleetwood Mac’s Mick Fleetwood in the studio, seven years after Buckingham was fired from the band.
Images of the pair have been shared to Instagram’s Threads app by Carl Falk – a producer and songwriter who has worked with the likes of Demi Lovato, 5 Seconds of Summer, Madonna, and more. Falk is seemingly working with Fleetwood on a new solo album.

In one of his Threads posts, accompanied by a photo of the pair, Falk writes, “Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on. And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it. Can’t wait to finish this one.”
In another he states, “Mick and Lindsey together again, what a flawless guitar player”, while another post shows Fleetwood with Adam Granduciel of rock band The War On Drugs.
When Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, he was replaced by Crowded House’s Neil Finn and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell for the remaining live shows on their final tour. At the time, it was reported that his departure was in relation to a disagreement surrounding the stint, but it was later revealed that friction between Buckingham and his former partner Stevie Nicks was the main factor in his exit.
Nicks went on to discuss his exit in an interview with Rolling Stone last year. She revealed that the last time she spoke to Lindsey was at the funeral of their fellow Fleetwood Mac bandmate, Christine McVie, in 2023. “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes. I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances,” she said.
Despite this, she still wished him well: “I hope he lives a long life and continues to go into a studio and work with other people. He’s also an icon, and he can teach people. He’s not stopped in his tracks. He can still make music and have fun.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Nicks also confirmed that Fleetwood Mac would not continue without Christine McVie: “When Christine died, Fleetwood Mac died. We cannot replace her,” she said.
