The rock world pays tribute to late Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison

Following the death of founding Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison, rock and metal artists from across the world have come together to pay tribute to the late musician.
Jordison’s former bandmates themselves have blacked out their social media profiles. Jordison left Slipknot in 2013, and went on to form a number of other side projects. He was also the guitarist in horrorpunk outfit Murderdolls.
Thrash band Anthrax wrote: “We are saddened by the news of the passing of our friend Joey Jordison. A great musician and person has left us. Sending our love to his family. RIP.”

Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto wrote: “Dude was an incredible drummer and song writer and was always super gracious to us anytime we toured with the band. RIP. 46 is way to young and it feels like we missed out on a whole lot of great music from Joey.”

Mike Portnoy, former drummer for Dream Theater, wrote: “Absolutely shocked & gutted to hear of the passing of Joey Jordison. In addition to being an incredible drummer, he was always a classy guy. When he heard how much of a fan Max Portnoy [Mike’s Son] was, he sent to the house a giant box filled with Slipknot swag: shirts, hoodies, backpacks…
“And when I did the one-off show playing with Stone Sour in Brazil (at which
Slipknot also played) he always treated me like part of the family. Fuck, this one really hurts…”
