The Foo Fighters share a first taste of their new music
The Foo Fighters have given fans a first taste of their new music, sharing several snippets of a new song onto their Twitter account.
Yesterday (5 November), the band began sharing a string of 30-second videos onto their Twitter page. The first showed the glowing eye of drummer Taylor Hawkins, along with a percussion-only track; the post was captioned “#LPX”.
Subsequent clips had the same theme and caption, but instead featured guitarist Pat Smear, bassist Nate Mendel and frontman Dave Grohl. Each post also saw more instruments stacked atop the original audio – first a snare drum, then a bass line and finally guitar. Take a listen below.

The Twitter tease comes hot on the heels of several hints dropped by the band in locations around Los Angeles over the weekend (31 October).
One fan spotted the band’s “FF” logo appear beside an “X” (most likely meaning 10 in this case) on the marquee of the Vogue Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.
Meanwhile, a second sighting of the mysterious teaser took place in Sherman Oaks, projected onto the side of a building. A video shared to Reddit showed the image fade out to a black-and-white clip of a burning coffin.
Fans online have speculated that the band will perform the new song during their upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live tomorrow (7 November).
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl previously spoke about the band’s 10th album back in March, saying that it will be “unlike anything we’ve ever done”.
He added: “There are choruses on this record that 50-fucking-thousand people are gonna sing, and it’s gonna bring everyone’s fucking hearts together in that moment.”
