The band Tom Morello will “chew his leg off” to get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Tom Morello is just about ready to do whatever it takes to rectify what he considers one of the most “egregious” omissions from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In a recent interview with Sirius XM’s Eddie Trunk, Morello — both a Rock Hall inductee and a member of the organisation’s nominating committee — reveals his desire to get heavy metal legends Iron Maiden their long-overdue spot in the Hall.

“I will chew my leg off like a coyote in a trap if I can’t get Iron Maiden in,” says the Rage Against the Machine guitarist. “While there are many other deserving acts, Iron Maiden for me is the last, most egregious oversight in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
“Iron Maiden is like the gold standard of metal bands and they’re not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Morello continues. “I know Bruce Dickinson said he doesn’t really care. Well, I care as a fan. I care very, very much about it. So I’m gonna do all I can to get, (using) whatever limited influence I have, to get Iron Maiden in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
As a matter of fact, Dickinson has previously declared that he is not a fan of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, nor does he care about the approval of those who run it.
“We don’t give a monkey’s. Because the people that get us are not the people that run the music business establishment, whatever that is,” the singer said when asked about Iron Maiden’s exclusion from the Rock Hall of Fame’s Class of 2023.
“I don’t want to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Because we’re not dead yet! Some people feel almost actively threatened by metal. Not by the nature of the music. But by the fact that it doesn’t conform to their worldview of what pop music should be, which is: pop music is disposable, darling.”
“Well, we don’t make disposable pop music,” Dickinson added.
