Barnes & Mullins reports that the new US-made Aguilar AG700 bass amp is now available in the UK.
The AG700 is a solid state bass head delivering 700 Watts at 4 ohms and 350 Watts at 8 ohms. Weighing just 2.22kg (4.9 lbs), the AG700 is uniquely built with a 2.67 ohm load so can be used with a combination of 4 and 8 ohms cabinets.
B&M says the AG700 has the dynamic range, clarity and fast transient response of its predecessor – the AG500 – ‘but features more low-end power and much greater headroom. A raft of EQ functionality allows for extremely flexible tone options to suit a range of sounds and playing styles’.
The AG 700 boasts Treble, High Mid, Low Mid and Bass tone controls as well as Deep and Bright EQ buttons. A series effects loop is also included that adds 6 dB of additional gain, making it useful for a broad range of effects units, plus universal mains power eliminates the need to switch voltages when touring from country to country.
B& M adds: ‘With a retail price of £1,169, the AG700 is a full-featured, professional portable bass head that can easily be transported and gigged across the world, offering a wealth of tone-shaping options for a multitude of top-quality bass tones. The high specification and incredible sound quality of the AG700 further cements Aguilar’s deserved reputation for the highest grade bass amplification.’
