Staffs to get major acoustic boost in June
Confirming the current popularity of acoustic music, this year’s Acoustic Festival Of Britain is set to break records at Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire, from June 2-4.
Headlining will be veterans Fairport Convention, celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, but the Acoustic Festival is nothing if not eclectic because also on the bill is Martin Turner, Wishbone Ash founder, bassist, singer and luminary, as are the Anglo-American band the Hoosiers, London-based folk-punk band The Men They Couldn’t Hang, Tir Na Nog, synth-pop star Howard Jones (yes, really), John Otway and many others including the wonderfully named The Barsteward Sons Of Val Doonican, who threaten to steal the show – if only for their choice of name.
The retail connection? Continue to stock-up on ukes and acoustics.
