Slipknot guitarist Jim Root says he’s been dreaming about Paul Gray

Slipknot guitarist Jim Root has revealed that his former bandmate, the late Paul Gray, has been appearing in his dreams recently.
He spoke about it in a recent interview with Vice, where he also opened up about possibly not having come to terms with Gray’s passing yet. “It’s a little bit weird; maybe I haven’t fully grieved Paul being gone, maybe I shoved that somewhere deep down inside”, he said.
“But in the dream, he had come back to life. He had passed on but he was alive and with his wife, his widow, and they were in this blue sports car. He was [typical] old Paul, but he was a reanimation of himself, like a zombie.”
Paul Gray was found dead in a hotel room in Iowa on 24 May, 2010. An autopsy revealed that the bassist had died of an overdose of morphine and fentanyl. He is survived by his widow Brenna Gray and their daughter October, who was born after his death.
In other Slipknot news, the band recently took home the Best Band In The World award during the NME Awards 2020. The metal outfit from Des Moines, Iowa beat out fellow nominees like Bring Me The Horizon and The 1975. Slipknot also recently unveiled dates for their North American Knotfest Roadshow as well as the first ever Knotfest in the UK. The tour is in support of their new album We Are Not Your Kind.
