Robert Fripp is “finally broken” in Sunday Lunch cover of ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man
In their latest Sunday Lunch video, Robert Fripp and his wife, Toyah Willcox, take on ZZ Top’s 1983 classic, Sharp Dressed Man.

The couple, together with masked guitarist Sidney Jake, performed the cover in what might be their raciest video to date. “Robert Fripp is finally broken!” Willcox wrote in the video’s description. You can watch it below:
This marks the second ZZ Top track the pair have covered as part of their Sunday Lunch series – the first was Gimme All Your Lovin’, from back in March this year.
In more recent weeks, the pair took on Black Sabbath’s Paranoid, Scorpion’s Rock You Like A Hurricane and The Prodigy’s Firestarter.
The Sunday Lunch video series was launched last year during the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK. Since then, the couple have shared renditions of songs by Nirvana, David Bowie, Metallica, Billy Idol, Guns N’ Roses, Alice Cooper and more through Willcox’s YouTube channel.
Owing to the popularity of the series, Fripp and Willcox even launched a line of Sunday Lunch merchandise, including t-shirts and personalised artwork – see it here.
In an interview on the origins of the series, the King Crimson man said: “Performers have a responsibility to perform and at this particular time to keep people’s spirits up.”
“This is a very English cultural tradition,” Fripp told Rolling Stone. “Essentially, when things are really bad in England, what you do is begin laughing and do silly things. A good reference point is the Ministry of Silly Walks on Monty Python. Now it’s, ‘Robert puts on a tutu and dances to Swan Lake at the river’s edge with his wife’.”
