“Refreshed, refined, and ready to go”: Martin’s Junior Series gets a 2025 makeover

Martin’s Junior Series has had quite a growth spurt. Junior models have previously stripped things back to keep costs low, offering high-quality Martin tones at an affordable price point – but the brand has upped the ante. With new models, upgraded electronics and upscaled designs, it’s an entirely new era for the series. Ah, they grow up so fast…
The most obvious shift is the series’ scaling. The Juniors have clearly been eating their vegetables, earning themselves a 24.9” scale length. It’s a slight shift from the original Junior line’s 24” scaling, but should allow each model to feel more like their full-scale counterparts, while not alienating those who prefer the Junior’s smaller size.

All acoustic models – from the D Jr E to the 000C Jr Bass – also come equipped with improved electronics. All the Juniors have been fitted with Martin E1 electronics. There’s also all new additions to the range, such as the D Jr E StreetLegend Burst and 000 Jr E Sapele, meaning the Junior Series now boasts eight unique models.

All eight models have also been fitted with some upgrades that generally makes them feel more up-market, like bevelled fingerboard edges, Richlite fretboards, faux abalone fingerboard inlays, and a body composed of solid spruce and sapele tonewoods.
“These guitars and basses are your perfect companions for couch sessions, jam nights, and road trip singalongs,” Martin explains. “The Junior Series delivers signature Martin sound in a size that fits your life.”
“Refreshed, refined, and ready to go wherever the music takes you,” the company adds. “This isn’t just a makeover. It’s a full-on glow up.”
