PRS takes flight with Private Stock Modern Eagle V
PRS has added the Modern Eagle V to its exclusive Private Stock range. The fifth edition of the Modern Eagle, this axe features premium tonewoods, expert craftsmanship and an electronics setup providing versatile sound combinations.
In terms of electronics, this guitar boasts a HSH pickup configuration – a Narrow PRS single-coil is sandwiched between TCI Treble and Bass humbuckers. Unique to the controls are three mini-toggle switches. Two of these are paired, and can be engaged to turn both humbuckers into TCI-tuned single-coils. The third selects between two volume pot values: 500K and 250K.
Joining the three mini switches are a five-way pickup selector, master volume control, and a push/pull tone control. When the latter is activated, you’ll be able to access all three pickups at the same time.
As for tonewoods, PRS has selected curly maple for the instrument’s top and neck. These are complemented by a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard that’s kitted out with solid shell Ripple Abalone Birds inlays.
Elsewhere, the Modern Eagle V is anchored by a Smoked Black PRS Gen III tremolo with locking saddles. At the headstock, you’ll find locking machine heads that are paired with Brazilian rosewood buttons.
