Announced last week, the Spark MINI Vai is designed to offer the “unique tone and style” of “one of the world’s most groundbreaking and influential guitarists”. An uber-compact and portable battery-powered practice amp, it’s essentially the Spark MINI, just with several extra features added at Vai’s request.
They include four onboard presets which offer the scope of Vai’s tones: Fresh, a “crystal-clear” clean tone; Mild, a more bluesy clean tone with some grit; Hot, a well-distorted rock rhythm tone; and Fire, a full-on no-holds-barred lead tone.
There’s plenty of aesthetic appointments that might pique your interest, too, including a custom burgundy Tolex, custom gold piping and a gold-line strap hand-picked by Vai, a mandala design on the front grille – made famous on Vai’s Hydra guitar – and a matching 10-foot guitar cable with 24K gold-plated connectors and a durable burgundy weave nylon jacket.
Additionally, users can access backing tracks and loops from Steve Vai’s catalogue via Positive Grid’s Spark app.
And if you need extra incentive to pre-order beyond the already stacked spec sheet, 100 random customers who purchase the amp during the pre-order period will receive their amp personally autographed by Steve Vai himself.
