“People who don’t like Coldplay are uncool”: The Snuts’ Jack Cochrane thinks people “pretend they’re too cool” to enjoy Coldplay
Like any of the world’s most commercially successful and best-loved music acts, Coldplay also have their share of haters. But Jack Cochrane, guitarist and frontman of Scottish indie rockers The Snuts, is not having any of it.
“I think people who don’t like Coldplay are uncool,” the West Lothian native asserts in a new interview with The Times, adding that his favourite Scottish gig ever was seeing Coldplay at T in the Park when he was just 15.

“They’re one of those bands that everybody pretends they’re too cool to properly love, but the performance, the production and atmosphere, with everybody blasting their songs, was unforgettable.”
Regardless of how many people may think they are too cool for Coldplay, the band are still widely adored. Ahead of releasing their 10th studio album, Moon Music, this year, they made history as the only act ever to headline Glastonbury five times.
Furthermore, their Music of the Spheres World Tour has been running since 2022, selling around 10 million tickets at the time of writing. The band are also set to play 10 dates at Wembley Stadium across August and September of 2025.
Though The Snuts have not reached the same level as Coldplay yet, they are currently on their own tour of Europe and the UK, playing celebrated venues like Paradiso in Amsterdam, O2 Academy Bristol, and OVO Hydra in Glasgow up until December.
