Ozzy Osbourne is “not planning on doing a set” with Black Sabbath at final reunion show – after some fans spend thousands to attend
Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that his role in Black Sabbath’s highly anticipated Back to the Beginning reunion show will be limited, saying he’ll only be doing “little bits and pieces”.
Earlier this month, Sabbath announced that they will reunite their original lineup for one final show in the band’s hometown of Birmingham, England, on 5 July. The special one-day event will also feature performances by Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, and more.

Now, revealing his plans for the upcoming concert in a new episode of his Ozzy Speaks show, the Sabbath frontman says [via Louder], “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them.”
“I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”
The 76-year-old singer, who last performed a full set at 2018’s Ozzfest, adds: “I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things.”
As Ozzy’s wife Sharon previously confirmed, the event will also mark the end of Osbourne’s performing career as he continues to struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
“It’s goodnight to his fans,” Sharon said. “The other guys in Sabbath will go on to their various projects, but for Ozzy it’s definitely farewell.”
“It’s going to take a lot of physical energy for Ozzy. It takes a lot, for someone with Parkinson’s,” she added. “But we feel so proud of all Ozzy has achieved, and all he’s overcome. I’m proud of him and I’m happy for him.”
Meanwhile, Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has said that he believes the upcoming reunion will be beneficial to Osbourne’s health.
“This will do him good, to do this show. It really will,” Iommi told NME. “That’s what it’s all about: he wants to get out and do something.”
According to the BBC, tickets for the hotly anticipated event ranged from around £200 into the thousands, and The Mirror claims they sold out in just 16 minutes.
