One of the best shred guitars of 2024 is $200 off at Sweetwater for Black Friday
Black Friday is here, and for the heavy metal-inclined players with a penchant for well-relic’d guitars, it’s great news. Sweetwater has discounted the Charvel Pro-Mod Relic San Dimas Style 1 by $200. That’s no small chunk of change!

We gave the guitar a 9/10 in our review back in June, thanks in part to the impressive factory relic job. While a pre-dinged up guitar isn’t for everyone, if it’s up your street this is one of the best examples out there! The careful, considered ageing work feels layered and authentic, rather than slapped on after the fact. The result is a guitar that already looks like it’s been well worn-in – and, as relic fans will tell you, the benefit is that out of the box, you don’t need to worry about putting a new ding on it!
But it’s not just its looks that impressed – the pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers – a JB TB-4 in the bridge position and a ‘59 SH-1N in the neck – kicked out some killer tones, and in general the guitar’s a fantastic player, thanks to a great neck with rolled fingerboard edges.
The Floyd Rose 1000 Series is not to be messed with, either – our reviewer gave it many hours of use and the tuning didn’t budge! Perfect for a two-hour long set of dive-bombs.
With $200 off, the guitar becomes one of the best value shred instruments you can get at all – let alone this side of $2,000. Check out the deal over at Sweetwater.

The Boss DM-101 is maybe the coolest analogue delay we’ve ever reviewed – but it’s base price of $499.99 is a little steep, thanks to it being packed with pricey BDD chips. Will $200 off tempt you to dive into its world of delay sounds?
