NAMM 2020: Hartke’s new lightweight LX series bass amplifier packs a punch

Hartke has announced its new LX series of bass amplifiers, which comprises the LX5500 and LX8500.
The LX series of amps are touted as lightweight amplifiers capable of high power outputs. Both the LX5500 and LX8500 don’t exceed 4kg in weight, but have a power rating of 500 and 800 watts respectively.
The LX5500 and LX8500 are both rated as Class D amplifiers and feature Class A 12AX7-driven tube preamp circuitry. They also come with onboard effects that comprise an integrated Drive control and a variable compressor knob.
Both amps come with the Hartke Tone Stack EQ to help encourage experimentation. The conventional two-band EQ of bass and treble allow for simple tweaking, ranging from vintage sounds to more contemporary ones. The mids are controlled via the Shape and Frequency knobs, while the Brite boost button can be activated to bump up the high frequencies for some top-end shimmer.
The Hartke LX5500 ($449.99) and LX8500 ($599.99) will be available in Q1 at major retailers. Click here for more information.
