Martin celebrates its 3 millionth serialised instrument and 192-year history with stunning diamond-encrusted acoustic guitar

NAMM 2025: Martin has unveiled a series of rare and eye-catching acoustic guitar builds for this year’s NAMM Show, most notably the D-3 Millionth, a beautifully ornate model celebrating the company’s three millionth serialised instrument.
Set to be on display at this year’s NAMM Show at Booth 5702, these guitars are “designed for musicians and collectors alike”, and “promise something truly extraordinary”. Based on aesthetics alone, at least, that’s certainly true.

A truly head-turning celebration of Martin’s astonishing 192 year legacy, this limited-edition Dreadnought acoustic marks the three millionth serialised Martin instrument in some style. It’s so limited-edition, in fact, that only three of these guitars exist, and only one is for sale: serial number 3,000,002.
The guitar’s top depicts a cross section of an American sycamore tree, with rings made of real sycamore and solid gold representing each year of the company’s growth, and actual diamonds marking major milestones in Martin’s near-200-year history.
“The theme of ‘past, present, and future’ is woven into every ornate detail,” says Martin, with an ebony headplate with a diamond-filled Moravian star and an engraved 14-karat palladium pickguard, with rubies marking each of Martin’s three Nazareth-area factory locations since 1839.
The back of the guitar is made using Brazilian rosewood, with a sycamore tree design of gold and pearl “paying tribute to the countless employees who have left their fingerprints on the company’s legacy”.
We’ve been given no word on price, but given its rarity, significance and materials, we wouldn’t be surprised if it demanded a seven-figure sum to match its name.

A less rare version of the D-3 Millionth – but still priced at $300,000, mind – the D-300 also features an American sycamore design on its top, with rings made of real sycamore and silver, as well as a Brazilian rosewood back with an abalone sycamore tree. Other features include a European flame maple binding, Waverly gold tuners, and Liquidmetal bridge pins with bezel-set emeralds. Only 30 D-300s are available worldwide.

Entering straight into Martin’s Standard Series, this model represents the brand’s “first time in over a century” offering a one-of-a-kind double neck instrument.
Featuring an electro-acoustic design with a solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and solid spruce top, the Grand J-28E DN “took years to perfect”, using “cutting-edge technology” at Martin’s Nazareth factory.
Other features include two compound dovetail neck joints on its six- and 12-string necks, an X bracing, satin-finished necks and ebony fingerboards and Fishman electronics. This one clocks in at $7,999.
00L OLIVER

A collaboration between Martin and artist Julie Heffernan, this limited-edition instrument is draped with Heffernan’s oil painting “Self-Portrait as Arms and the Men”, on its FSC-certified solid spruce top. If you’re a keen guitar gearhead, you might recognise Julie Heffernan’s distinctive art style from Gibson’s run of custom art-adorned Adam Jones models.
Named after Heffernan’s son, the 00L OLIVER features a sloped-shoulder Grand Concert body, with a spruce top and solid medium-flame koa satin back and sides. Limited to 104 models, the 00L OLIVER is priced at $2,999.

Boasting hand-painted artwork by acclaimed artist Robert Goetzl, this Dreadnought acoustic “is light and agile”, like the hummingbird design which adorns its solid spruce top. Elsewhere, the guitar features a solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, an abalone rosette, Waverly gold tuners and a mahogany neck.
“Not only are they making a beautiful body for me to work on, but once I hand it over, they help really make it special,” says Goetzl.
CEO-11

And last but not least, the CEO-11 is designed by Martin CEO Thomas Ripsam, and features a Grand Auditorium design with a European spruce top and figured white oak back and sides, finished in a unique New Horizons blue burst.
Elsewhere, the guitar sports a two-piece flame maple neck, flame maple binding and custom-voiced Fishman Aura VT Blend electronics. 1,111 guitars are available, priced at $6,999 each.
