Listen: Knuckleduster by Muzz, a trio fronted by Interpol’s Paul Banks
Muzz, the music trio fronted by Interpol’s Paul Banks, has released a new single entitled Knuckleduster. Along with the new song, the band have shared an accompanying music video filmed in the basement of a museum near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Take a look above.
In a Facebook post announcing the single, the band revealed that the music video was shot impromptu, while on set at a video shoot for a different single. “While we were shooting the video for Red Western Sky at the American Treasure Tour facility, we discovered this epic industrial hallway situated on the floor below,” they said. “So, unplanned, we set up the camera and equipment again, and managed to capture the video for Knuckleduster that same day.”
Knuckleduster follows the aforementioned Red Western Sky, Bad Feeling and Broken Tambourine as the fourth single taken from the band’s forthcoming debut album. The 12-track self-titled LP is set to release on vinyl, CD and digital formats, 5 June through Matador Records.
Muzz, fronted by Banks, was formed alongside long-time friends Josh Kaufman of Bonny Light Horseman and Matt Barrick of The Walkmen. In the years leading up to the group’s formation, the three have collaborated on various music and media projects. Kaufman, notably, was involved in the early stages of Banks’ solo endeavour as Julian Plenti.
