Is Heritage about to start making acoustic guitars again?

Heritage Guitars has teased the reintroduction of its 225 Parsons Street-made acoustics, at least if a new post on its Instagram page is anything to go by.
Last year, we reported that Harmony Guitars – which, like Heritage, is owned by Vista Musical Instruments and the Caldecott Music Group – had posted a job listing seeking an acoustic luthier at 225 Parsons Street. Well, it seems we were wrong – partly – because it now appears that that listing was for a luthier working under the Heritage brand.

Beside a photo of a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar on a guitar stand next to a trio of Heritage electrics, the brand writes: “It’s not what you think… Or maybe it is? Something new is taking shape at 225 Parsons.”
Of course, the logo on the headstock is tactically partially cropped, but from what we can see that Heritage logo is unmistakable. We can also see that the shorter headstock itself deviates somewhat from the standard Heritage headstock design.

Heritage stopped making acoustic guitars decades ago, instead opting to focus on its range of solid-body and hollow-body electrics. One user on heritageownersclub.com says the brand “stopped making acoustics around ‘92 or ‘93”.
There’s little else to go on at the moment – and no info surrounding Heritage acoustics on its website, but as far as teasers go, we’d wager this one does little to hide what’s coming.
Stay tuned to Guitar.com – we’ll keep an eye out for more updates as they come. Learn more about Heritage’s current lineup at heritageguitars.com.
Editor’s note: Heritage Guitars and Guitar.com are both part of the Caldecott Music Group.
