Heritage Guitars makes a play for the affordable guitar market with its new Ascent Collection – and some models are priced under $200
Heritage Guitars has launched the Ascent Collection, aimed at bringing Heritage DNA to more players than ever via more affordable price points.
The Ascent Collection comprises two lines – Ascent and Ascent+ – both with uber-accessible price tags, but with the latter boasting slightly improved specs.

“The Ascent Collection offers exceptional value while maintaining our high standards,” Heritage says. “Designed for players at all levels, these guitars deliver quality materials, versatile electronics, and enhanced playability – hallmarks of the Heritage experience.”
Let’s take a closer look at the specs you’ll get with both the Ascent and Ascent+ lines.
Ascent

The Ascent line features three models: the H-137 – equipped with either P90s or humbuckers – and the H-150. Features present on all three include a bolt-on neck construction crafted from select tonewoods like okoume and basswood, 24.75” scale length, contoured C-shaped neck, 12” fingerboard radius and medium jumbo frets. Further comfort is provided by a sculpted belly cut and ergonomic body carves.
Price-wise, the H-137 P90, H-137 Humbucker and H-150 all clock in at just $195.
Ascent+

Like the Ascent line, Ascent+ comprises three models: the H-137, H-150 and H-535. This time, though, these guitars sport set necks, with mahogany and rosewood the tonewoods of choice.
Ergonomic features include a modern contoured heel design and belly cut for uninhibited upper fretboard access, as well as a compound radius fingerboard with jumbo frets.
Electronics include noiseless P90 pickups and humbuckers – with push-pull pots for coil splitting on the latter – while other features include a Graph Tech nut, and figured top woods finished in Dirty Lemon Burst, Lake Blue Burst or Olive Drab.
Ascent+ guitars are a little pricier, but still mighty affordable by today’s standards, coming in at just $499.
