“He loved the relaxed environment, and he certainly loved the view”: Portion of Lemmy’s ashes to be displayed at his favourite strip club

Some of Lemmy’s ashes are to be displayed at Stringfellows strip club in London, a venue considered as “one of his favourite places on the planet”.
The Motörhead bassist and vocalist passed away in 2015 following a cancer diagnosis. Following his death, portions of his ashes were given to friends and loved ones housed within decorative bullets. They have also been scattered at Wacken Open Air festival, and displayed within a number of other venues he treasured.

Stringfellows, located in Covent Garden and founded by Peter Stringfellow in 1980, will display the ashes permanently. They’re set to arrive on 18 December, and will be displayed in an urn shaped like Lemmy’s famed cavalry hat. A ceremony is also due to take place upon their arrival, and is set to be attended by Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell.
Motörhead manager Todd Singerman says that Stringfellows “always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart”, and adds that he “loved the relaxed environment, and he certainly loved the view. I know he’s relieved he can get back to enjoying one of his favourite places on the planet!” (as reported by Louder).

Earlier this year, Metallica’s James Hetfield revealed that he’d gotten a tattoo of the ace of spades using ink mixed with Lemmy’s ashes. The frontman shortly after criticised the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during an episode of the Metallica Report podcast for not including Lemmy in its list of inductees, calling his omission all these years a “travesty”: “The most rock and roll lifestyle-living person on this planet is not in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, which is a travesty, a shame. It’s kind of a disrespect to rock and roll, basically,” he said.
