Gruv Gear launches the John Patitucci Signature Strap
Gruv Gear has launched the John Patitucci Signature Strap. It has been designed alongside Patitucci and music industry health expert Dr Randall Kertz.
The John Patitucci Signature Strap combines supple leather with a comfortable, double-layered neoprene underside. Gruv Gear says that this combination of materials for the three-inch-wide strap means it “moulds to the wearer offering unmatched comfort for the longest sessions or live performances.” The strap will prove especially useful to guitarists and bassists who favour either large extended-range instruments or those made of heavier tonewoods such as mahogany. The strap also incorporates Gruv Gear’s proprietary length adjustment system for quick and easy changes.
John Patitucci, who has received three Grammys and numerous nominations and played with artists such as Chick Corea, Bono, Alicia Keys and Dizzy Gillespie, last released an album in 2019. He has seen an incredibly prolific recording career, beginning in 1980 when he began to play with Henry Mancini, Dave Grusin and Tom Scott.
Dr Randall Kertz is a chiropractic physician and bassist. He specialises in musculoskeletal problems and treats musicians for a range of injuries. He has also written books and spoken extensively on the topic of injury management and ergonomics for bassists and worked with Gruv Gear on a number of ergonomic-forward products.
