Gibson launches the Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Doubleneck VOS, a cheaper version of the $50,000 Collector’s Edition model
Gibson has launched another Jimmy Page model – the EDS-1275 Doubleneck VOS – joining a growing collection of signature models from the Led Zeppelin guitarist as part of a partnership with the brand launched back in February.
This is the second Jimmy Page doubleneck model from the brand, with a Collector’s Edition having been released back in March. This first offering – which is now sold out – was priced at a hefty $50,000, yet the new VOS version comes in at a cheaper (but still very expensive) $9,999.

“While Gibson has been making double neck electric guitars since 1958, Jimmy was the player who defined the EDS-1275 from the day it was delivered to him,” states Gibson. “The Gibson EDS-1275 allowed him to play the numerous 6 and 12-string acoustic and electric guitar parts of Stairway to Heaven during live performances. He also later used the EDS-1275 for The Song Remains the Same, The Rain Song, Celebration Day, Tangerine, and more recently live at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in a November 2023 tribute to Link Wray.”
This new launch features a double-cutaway one-piece mahogany body, and both necks (12” radius) have long tenons and are hide glue fit. These are both capped with bound Indian rosewood fretboards, and each is equipped with 20 medium jumbo frets with aged cellulose nitrate parallelogram inlays. The 18 tuners are Kluson double line, double ring style, just like those found on the original guitar, and the headstocks feature the correct 17-degree angle and specific logo stylisation found on Page’s EDS-1275.

As for electronics, its fitted with two uncovered Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Custombuckers with double black bobbins and Alnico 5 magnets for the two six-string pickups, while a covered pair is installed on the 12-string neck. The two volume and two tone controls use CTS potentiometers and period-correct ceramic disc capacitors, and the pickup select switch, neck select switch, and output jack are all from Switchcraft.
The model was made in close collaboration with Page, and similar to its Collector’s Edition counterpart, it utilised new 3D scanning technology to aid in hand-crafting a clone of the model as it originally appeared prior to extensive use and touring.
Where it differs from its pricer sibling is with its finish. The VOS’ nitrocellulose lacquer in ‘69 Cherry finish gives it a softly aged patina “without the custom, highly-detailed Murphy Lab aging that duplicated the lacquer checking and other wear of the original guitar that was featured on the Collector’s Edition,” as Gibson explains.
The Collector models were also limited, hand-signed and played by Page, plus they featured a wider range of case candy. You’ll still get a Gibson Custom hardshell case included with this one though, plus a vintage leather strap, and a certificate of authenticity with a photo from famed photographer Barrie Wentzell.
