Fender has teamed up with Mastodon’s Troy Sanders on a new signature Precision bass guitar, and the results are pretty sick.

For starters, the Silverburst Precision Bass features an alder body with matching headstock and ’70s style Fender logo, chromed control plate, custom ‘70s P-Bass “C”-shaped maple neck, and a 9.5″-radius slab rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays and 20 medium jumbo frets.
Besides the colour scheme, Fender has also included a custom “Emperor of Sand” inscription on the 12th fret, as well as a “Remission” logo on the neck plate for you Mastodon fans out there.
The bass is fitted with a pair of Tim Shaw-designed custom pickups — a Troy Sanders Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge, and a Troy Sanders Split-Coil P-Bass unit in the middle. Other features include a custom-voiced active preamp with a master volume knob, a pan pot pickup selector, bass and treble controls as well as a Active/Passive mini-toggle switch.
Hardware wise, players can expect a four-saddle HiMass Vintage bridge and standard open-gear tuners.
“Fun fact, the Silverburst colour scheme became my favourite as both Mastodon guitarists have been rocking them since day one,” Sanders said in a statement. “During our formative years, their idea was for me to get one also so we could be in Silverburst unison on stage.”
“My favourite feature is the worker bee icon on the back neck plate – which is inspired by Mastodon’s Remission album because it symbolises our work ethic and dedication.”
Available at 1,499, each Troy Sanders Precision Bass will come with a deluxe gig bag.
