Fender has unveiled an electrifying Flame Ash Top Stratocaster
Fender has unveiled the Flame Ash Top Stratocaster, the third member of its premium Rarities collection. Like its siblings, this limited-edition instrument arrives with a host of high-end features, including choice tonewoods, a set of Custom Shop ’54 single-coils and a decadent Plasma Red Burst finish.
A defining feature of the Rarities series has been exotic tonewoods, and this instrument is no different. This Strat features a two-piece alder body with a flame ash maple top, a one-piece “60s C”-shaped birdseye maple neck and a striking 9.5-inch-radius birdseye maple fingerboard.
For tone, Fender has gone the vintage route with a trio of Custom Shop ’54 single-coils. These pups are wired to a master volume knob, two tone controls and a five-way pickup selector. The instrument’s old-school vibe is driven home by vintage hardware components: a six-saddle synchronised tremolo and Single Line ‘Fender Deluxe’ tuning machines.
Retails at $2,499.99. More info at fender.com.
