ESP announces return of Kirk Hammett KH-3 Spider alongside three-day virtual event
In lieu of the normal in-person trade show appearances such as Winter NAMM, ESP has announced a three-day live-streamed event entitled ESP Presents, featuring demos of new products and performances from ESP artists.
ESP has already announced quite a number of new guitars for 2021, including a whole new range of monochrome Arctic White guitars and a number of new signature models. Perhaps the biggest announcement to come alongside that of ESP Presents is the return of Kirk Hammett’s signature Spider, in the form of a new KH-3 Spider Eclipse signature electric for the Metallica guitarist. The model is based on Hammett’s KH-3 Custom Eclipse Spider 13, used during the band’s 1992 tour in support of Metallica’s Black Album.
The event takes place between 11-13 January, and will be streamed live. The ESP-owned acoustic brand Takamine will also be hosting a similar event on 14 January, showcasing its lineup and giving interviews with artists.
ESP CEO Matt Masciandaro said of the events in a statement: “ESP Presents and Takamine Showcase 2021 are not merely substitutes for a consumer/trade show that some may miss, but a platform that will provide the viewer even greater insight into the products and the artists that play them.
“Musicians who watch these streaming videos will get a complete picture of our companies and the instruments we make. This is the most extensive virtual product launch we’ve planned to date, and we look forward to bringing it to everyone who wants to know more about what ESP and Takamine have planned for 2021.”
