ENGL packs its legendary Fireball amplifier tone into a “powerhouse” IR pedal
ENGL has launched a new pedal that delivers the tone of its famed Fireball amp tone in a compact and “feature rich” unit.
The EP635 Fireball IR is a two-channel preamp pedal offering a striking red design, and ENGL says it’s ideal for players “seeking high-gain perfection with modern digital convenience”.

Users can easily switch between its two channels, with each channel’s knob settings saved independently for an easy transition between tones. It also has a built-in mid-boost function to cut through the mix, and an advanced noise gate to eliminate unwanted noise and maintain clarity when using high-gain settings.
You can also customise your sound with loadable IRs via USB-C connectivity and included software, unlocking studio-quality cab simulations, and tweak controls for volume, gain, bass, middle, treble, and presence. Though clearly designed for a powerful output, you can also make use of a dedicated headphone output for silent practice and direct monitoring too.

Back in 2023, ENGL Amplification celebrated its 40th anniversary with an “exclusive” re-release of the Fireball amplifier series. Featuring the brand’s iconic Fireball 100 and 25 amplifiers in a one-of-a-kind celebratory “racing stripe” colourway – matching the same tone of red now seen on its pedal – the “extremely limited” drop was featured just 40 production units (with matching cabinets also available) only.
